January 1, 1952 - Begin the year tied up at the Convoy Escort Piers in Norfolk
January 9, 1952 - Obviously an error by Bupers - Willy Wunderlin reports aboard!
January 23, 1952 - Out for OPS and the USS Mellette and USS Vermillion collide
February 6, 1952 - Take a break from OPS and pull into Halifax, Nova Scotia
February 12, 1952 - OPS complete pull back into NORVA
February 14, 1952 - Time for a little gunnery practice firing at a sled target
February 29, 1952 - Visit our future home and anchor in Mayport, Florida
March 20, 1952 - More OPS in the Capes chasing the USS Diablo
April 8, 1952 - Yet more OPS in the Virginia Capes
April 23, 1952 - After a stop in San Juan we rescue ETSN Baughman who had fallen overboard from the USS Furse
May 2, 1952 - Back down the Elizabeth river and home again
May 21, 1952 - Time for another overhaul and we tie up in Boston, Massachusetts
May 28, 1952 - Into the drydock and check out the hull
June 9, 1952 - Out of the drydock and a bunch of the guys return from school
June 23, 1952 - Need a little more hull work, so we head back into the drydock
August 8, 1952 - Change of Command ceremony as Captain Lynch relieves Captain Garth
August 19, 1952 - A busy day in drydock as we have two fires!
September 12, 1952 - Out of the drydock again, we are looking good
September 30, 1952 - Out for trials as a life preserver inscribed "ESSO" passes by ???
October 3, 1952 - More trials and the old girl gets up to 32.7 knots
October 16, 1952 - Anchor out and reload the magazines
October 22, 1952 - Going home, stop at Melville, RI and COMDESLANT stops by
October 24, 1952 - Finally back home but not for long
November 2, 1952 - Time for a little Refresher Training in the tropics at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba
November 10, 1952 - A typical day in GITMO practicing ASW on the USS Clagamore
December 12, 1952 - The final exam, gunnery exercises at Culebra
December 16, 1952 - We arrive back home for the rest of the year!
