• January 1, 1957 - The traditional mid-watch verse by LTJG M. G. Smith, Jr.
• January 4, 1957 - Underway for Newport News as the holidays are over
• January 15, 1957 - Into the Virginia Capes and a little gunnery practice
• January 19, 1957 - Leave Quantico and head for Washington and President Eisenhower's Inauguration
• January 25, 1957 - More OPS in the Capes with the USS Zellars
• January 30, 1957 - Out again for ASW OPS with the USS Pompom
• February 12, 1957 - Time for another overhaul as we enter Norfolk Naval Shipyard
• February 28, 1957 - Into the dry dock and some hull work
• April 9, 1957 - No leaks found and we leave the dry dock
• May 1, 1957 - Underway for post repair trials in the Capes
• May 15, 1957 - Back home at the D&S piers in good old Norfolk
• May 22, 1957 - More training and trials then anchor in Lynnhaven Roads
• May 28, 1957 - RADM Ricketts COMDESFLOT FOUR stops by before we pull out
• June 7, 1957 - A great liberty port, GITMO and a wee bit of refresher training
• June 15, 1967 - We get the weekend off and enter Kingston, Jamaica
• June 17, 1957 - Back at GITMO and attend the DESRON 16 change of command
• July 4, 1976 - Our GITMO vacation done we arrive in Cuidad, Trujillo, Dominican Republic
• July 8, 1957 - The last part of refresher training, the gun range at Culebra
• July 15, 1957 - Once again, back at the D&S piers
• July 22, 1957 - Back to the routine of OPS this time with the USS Forrestal
• July 31, 1957 - More OPS and we get to play with a drone, they never should have let us near it!
• August 13, 1957 - Back into dry dock in Baltimore for a quick check
• August 20, 1957 - Everything is okay now and we get back in the water
• August 22, 1957 - Oh well, back into the dry dock one more time
• August 26, 1957 - Out again, let's get out of here
• September 5, 1957 - Underway with the Strike Force and the USS Tarawa
• September 14, 1957 - Anchor in Bangor Bay, Northern Ireland
• September 30, 1957 - Through the locks and into Amsterdam, The Netherlands
• October 11, 1957 - Another set of locks and we moor at Ijmuiden, The Netherlands
• October 22, 1957 - Back home again at the DesSub piers at NOB
• November 7, 1957 - Target practice in the Capes as USS Kiowa tows the sled
• November 19, 1957 - Playing with the bubbleheads and it gets a bit dicey
• December 6, 1957 - Get in a bit more practice before the holidays
• The rest of the year we check out how to fly military stand-by
