• January 1, 1963 - The traditional mid-watch verse by ENS W. L. Yeates
• January 7, 1963 - A lttle OPS after the holidays with the USS Saratoga (CVA-60)
• February 1, 1963 - Time for another overhaul as we enter Charleston
• February 7, 1963 - Into the Drydock to get the barnacles removed
• February 25, 1963 - Out of the Drydock with a new coat of paint and no barnacles
• March 29, 1963 - Out to sea for some engineering trials
• May 7, 1963 - Time to test out our new toy - the VDS (Variable Depth Sonar)
• May 17, 1963 - Run to the ammunition depot and load up, we can fight again!
• May 19, 1963 - Overhaul is finally complete and we go home
• May 23, 1963 - ASW OPS off Georgia and South Carolina
• May 29, 1963 - OPS with the USS Salish (ATA-187) and USS Luce (DLG-7)
• May 31, 1963 - More carrier OPS with the USS Franklin D. Roosevelt (CVA-42)
• June 20, 1963 - Pull into Norfolk and pick up some Middies from Annapolis
• June 25, 1963 - Out with the USS Noa (DD-841) and USS Ingram (DD-938) for Middie training
• July 3, 1963 - Push the bow through Gravesend Bay and pass the Statue of Liberty
• July 12, 1963 - Down the St. Lawrence to Montreal with the USS Ault (DD-698)
• July 18, 1963 - With TU 23.1.4 operating off the coast of Nova Scotia
• July 24, 1963 - Into Norfolk with the USS Newport News (CA-148) and USS Shangri-La (CVA-38)
• July 27, 1963 - Once again Florida comes into view as we enter Mayport Basin
• July 29, 1963 - Change of Command ceremony as Captain Flynn is relieved by Captain Miller
• August 26, 1963 - Out for OPS and take some of the crews sons with us
• September 14, 1963 - Many years ahead of it's time we find some "Haitian Boat People"
• September 16, 1963 - Pull into Key West for a little Sonar School training
• September 20, 1963 - Way before it was popular we stop at Port Everglades
• September 24, 1963 - Back into the St. John's River and Berth D-3
• October 3, 1963 - Down the coast to see our NASA friends at Cape Canaveral
• October 14, 1963 - With the USS Zellars (DD-777) we head for beautiful Bermuda
• October 22, 1963 - A few weeks of Classified OPS on the Polaris missle project
• October 31, 1963 - Quick stop at Cape Canaveral and then its back home
• November 19, 1963 - More OPS with the USS Huntington (DD-781), USS Powers (DD-839 and USS Zellars
• November 25, 1963 - This was a National Day of Mourning for President Kennedy
• December 1, 1963 - Getting a little chilly in Florida so we head for GITMO
• December 7, 1963 - A weekend off so we head for San Juan
• December 11, 1963 - Off to Culebra for a bit of gunnery practice
• December 12, 1963 - A quick stop in Roosevelt Roads, Puerto Rico and then head home
• December 15, 1963 - Home for the holidays
