• January 1, 1966 - The traditional mid-watch verse by LTJG Tim Jaroch from a cold Athens
• January 16, 1966 - It's pasta time again in Taranto, Italy
• January 25, 1966 - Home of the last Crusaders - Valetta, Malta
• February 2, 1966 - Inquiry Board about the port propeller - anybody out there tell us what this was about?
• February 5, 1966 - The Fleets back in Naples, time to visit Rome!
• February 15, 1966 - Another Sumner haunt revisited - Palma, Mallorca
• February 24, 1966 - Another treat, tie up at Gibraltar and find out the Rock is hollow....
• March 8, 1966 - Another Med Cruise complete, back home in Mayport
• May 4, 1966 - OPS in the Capes and visit our old home - Norfolk
• May 18, 1966 - Back to the Sunshine State and home
• May 25, 1966 - Fly the DASH, launch a MK 44 and then we can't find it
• May 28, 1966 - More OPS out of Norfolk
• June 10, 1966 - It's ASW time and Sonar Schooling so we are at Key West
• July 5, 1966 - Spend a few days resting in the Jacksonville Drydock
• July 18, 1966 - Take part in the Space Program and the Gemini Recovery
• August 27, 1966 - Back to Key West for some Key Lime Pie!
• September 27, 1966 - Anchor at the mouth of the New River, Onslow Beach, North Carolina
• October 6, 1966 - Change of Command as Captain Baty is relieved by Captain Beaman
• October 18, 1966 - This is getting old, we are back at Key west again
• October 29, 1966 - Back to Mayport and the comforts of home
• November 9, 1966 - COMCRUDESLANT pays a visit

• December 1, 1966 - Operating with TG 28.8 getting in some sea time before the holidays
