• January 1, 1972 - The traditional mid-watch verse by LTJG T. J. Kenney.
• February 8, 1972 - Underway for training exercises
• February 13, 1972 - Pull into our old home at the D&S piers in Norfolk
• March 19, 1972 - Back home in Baltimore after five weeks of training OPS
• March 23, 2972 - A very sad day as Ronnie Spillman dies in a tragic accident
• March 26, 2972 - Head back to Norfolk with our Reserves
• March 27, 1972 - Under the Chesapeake Bay Bridge and into NORVA
• March 30, 1972 - Headed south for some fun in Florida at Port Everglades
• April 3, 1972 - We say goodbye to the palms and head back to the Op area.
• April 6, 1972 - Back to pier 194 in Baltimore for a rest
• May 4, 1972 - Yet again we head for our friends in Norfolk
• May 7, 1972 - SOPA is our big boss from Second Fleet
• May 9, 1972 - Time for a visit to one of our favorite ports - Mayport
• May 11, 1972 - The old girl is starting to show her age as we spring a leak
• May 17, 1972 - Inspectors come aboard and it seems we need a bit of yard work done
• May 19, 1972 - Stop at Yorktown to offload our ammunition
• May 20, 1972 - We pull into Philadelphia for a much needed makeover
• May 31, 1972 - Into the drydock so the hull can be put right
• July 7, 1972 - We are looking good so it's out of the drydock and see if everything is okay
• August 3, 1972 - All the workorders are complete so it's time to head home
• August 4, 1972 - Home at last and ready for more training
• August 14, 1972 - Seems like we have done this before, we head back to Norfolk
• August 30, 1972 - We get no respect from the Ellen B III, lets go to GQ!
• August 31, 1972 - A quick stop at Yorktown and we are ready for Baltimore
• September 9, 1972 - We head into the harbor to take part in tomorrow's festivities
• September 10, 1972 - Fort McHenry comes under fire from our 5"/38's
• September 27, 1972 - This is getting old, we head back to Norfolk one more time
• October 26, 1972 - Let's head back to Baltimore for some soft shell crabs!
• October 31, 1972 - It's back at sea for Junior Officer Ship Handling drills
• November 18, 1972 - Back to sea for training OPS, will it ever end?
• November 19, 1972 - Anchor off Annapolis so the Midshipmen can see what the real Navy looks like
• December 8, 1972 - Back to the Capes for our last training mission of 1972
• December 10, 1972 - Our Deployment Schedule for 1972 is complete, time to go on Liberty and buy some presents
