25th Annual "All Hands" Reunion |
May 2 - 5, 2013, Marriott Hotel, Colorado Springs, Colorado
I want to thank everyone for making the 2013 Reunion such a success. In the true Sumner Spirit, you all stepped up and made it one of the best reunions ever! Thanks to Chief Joe Gall for setting up the reunion at the Marriott, Colorado Springs. They gave us excellent service - the best ever! I thank all of you for your hard work. A special thanks to Pete & Gail Dromms for driving to Chief Joe's house to pick up the Ship's Store, kitchen and registration supplies, etc., haul everything across the country to Colorado Springs; then to haul it all back to Chief Joe. I salute Karen Haderer & Rita Hart for handling the registration, Ship's Store and silent auction activities. Special thanks to Dave & Lee Robson for chauffeuring Connie and myself around Colorado Springs to pick up the food, beverages and supplies for the Hospitality Room. Thanks to Vickie Armstrong, Lee Robson, Gail Dromms & Connie for keeping the food and drinks orderly. Thanks to Kelly Brown for hustling up our new Banner and more free beer from Coors. Thanks to Dale Surber for keeping watch over the Hospitality Room when needed and all your other help. Thanks to everyone for helping unload supplies and taking care of all the details - Big and small. You all made this such a success. Thanks to everyone that donated their winnings from the 50 - 50 drawings back to the Assistance Fund - BRAVO ZULU! Thanks to Colin Benporath for traveling all the way from Australia. Condolences to Bev Benporath for the passing of her Mother while we were at the Reunion. Thanks everyone, especially Don Hayden for the pictures you have sent in so we can all share our memories. Thanks to the Ladies for reading the names of our fallen sailors; to Bobby Moore & Jim Frederickson for our Memorial Service. I especially want to thank Fred Willshaw. Fred likes to stay in the background folks, but I am going to highlight him - If it weren't for Fred we would have Chaos! He gets the details and passes them on to the right spot at the right time. Once again I just want to thank each and everyone of you. If I have neglected to recognize anyone, please forgive me. You all did a great job! See you all in Galveston next year!
